Principle of publication. Manuscripts submitted for publication are assessed by the editorial board with the aid of two independent reviewers. The condition of publication is a positive review and the acceptance of the author's declaration. The journal follows the principle of first publication. The reviews are made available to the authors anonymously, just as the reviewers too receive an anonymous manuscript. In the event of divergent reviews, an intellectual panel convened by the President of our learned society pronounces an opinion. We refrain from publishing manuscripts containing factual errors or compilation, and those lacking references to the relevant publications of the first treatment of the subject. We likewise refrain from publishing writings that place the expectations of some preconception before historical reality.

Every issue is given with its Hungarian and Latin title, the volume and issue designation, and the reference to the digitised version available in the Electronic Periodical Archive (EPA) of the National Széchényi Library.

The divergence of volumes and years. The first volume of the Rendvédelem-történeti Füzetek (Vol. I) unusually spanned two calendar years: No. 1 appeared in 1990 and No. 2 in 1991. In the later volumes the volume and the calendar year coincided. The Special issue of 2006 is the repertory of the issues of the journal published between 1990 and 2000, which appeared outside the series of regular issues, as a separate volume.
